My first Giant Schnauzer joined our family over thirty years ago. Since his arrival, I have belonged to numerous kennel and obedience clubs across the country, as well as the Giant Schnauzer Club of America. Without exception each club has provided its membership with a newsletter or magazine and they have all reflected their club's character and purpose & for better or for worse.

While the Giant Hotline's sole purpose is to provide information of specific interest to club members, it is our hope to publish a quarterly newsletter that demonstrates the South Central States Giant Schnauzer Club's commitment to Education, Sportsmanship and Fun. Most important, we want you to look forward to receiving and reading this publication.

Of course you can help in this endeavor by e-mailing me news about your dogs. If your Giant graduates from a basic obedience training class, joins the family on a cross-country car-trip, participates in a parade or swims at the beach, we want to hear about it. We also want to brag about your championships, obedience degrees and agility titles.

Any gathering of Giant fanciers is cause for celebration so if you are planning an event and want some free advertising, please e-mail me the details. Just as important, we want a full report, with photographs if possible, after the party, fun day or picnic. Hopefully, reading about the fun that you are having with your dogs will encourage all of us to do more fun stuff with our dogs.

Education is our goal too and I want to encourage everyone to send information of specific interest to Giant Schnauzer owners. We are interested in news relating to health concerns, training methods and tips that have worked for you and general hints that making living with Giant Schnauzers as easy as loving Giant Schnauzers.
